It does not matter
how many times you see her perform the same songs,
every single time the performance seems new,
captures your senses a 100 percent, the excitement
is beyond words, and you cannot take your eyes off
of her. And at the end of each song, you cannot
help but jump to a standing ovation shouting:
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!
The
GM Place was not competely full, but it did not
matter to our Beloved One and Only Superstar. She
would be happy and deliver an
amazing
performance, enter your soul, even if the audience
were a handful of people.
The crowd was restless in anticipation! Then, there
she was, appeared in a beautiful blue-turquoise
shimmering gown, looking magnificent, and we all
jumped up applauding and shouting with excitement.
She was grateful, thanked everyone, and welcomed us
to “the night of songs”!
The first song was Talagh, then Marham, followed by
Otaghe Man. Her beautiful voice, gestures and moves
were so delightful. At this point, she told us
about her dear friend Mehrdad and asked him to joint
her on Stage. Mehrdad was received with applause
and performed “Akharin Khabar” with our Googoosh.
She
left the stage to change and Mehrdad continued his
performance and got the audience involved. Everyone
responded with excitement.
Googoosh reappeared in a beautiful red gown.
Commented that she had worn that gown before and
said with a joking astonishment that “it still fits
her”; drawing a loud
laughter and applause! She sang Ahouye Eshgh and
danced, of course, to the delight of everyone; she
performed a mix of her old favorites: Hejrat, Do
Panjereh; Bavar Kon, Oon Manam, Harf, dancing and
moving the whole time. At the start and finish of
every song – as short as they were – the audience
applauded with excitement. Andy G’s arrangement of
the mix is absolutely fantastic and only, I mean,
only, our Googoosh can perform them so artfully.
The
whole world has the right to be jealous of us
because they don’t have a Googoosh. WE DO!!
She
left the stage several times, changed into a more
beautiful gown each time, and during her absence
from the stage, Mehrdad held his own. His solo
performances were pleasing and he would have
everyone clapping and dancing. Very nice.
At
the end of the first half, she said after she sings
the last song, she will let us leave “to do whatever
we need to”!! She performed Kavir and had us all on
our feet as she has done so many times before.
After performing the first song, when she returned,
she said “How was it? Was it
good?”. The audience shouted and applauded. She
said, “I mean the intermission”!!! She was so cute
with the comments she made every now and then.
She said she was going to perform Ay Mardom Mordam
in honor of Iranian women. She started crying as she
sang; “in kanizakaan khaahare manand”. At the end
of the song the emotions took hold of her the lights
were turned off while she was crying, and the
audience gave a prolonged standing ovation.
In short, Our Beloved’s “night of songs” was a
delightful success. She was as awesome, gorgeous,
and enchanting to watch, as always. We were all so
happy and
privileged to witness our Legend’s one of a kind
performance (which applies to every single one of
her performances!!). You leave her concerts,
savoring every moment of it for hours and days to
come.
Yes! Such is our beloved Googoosh, our one and only
Legendary Superstar, Our very own Precious Daughter.
And those of you, who weren’t there, missed it!
