کنسرت گوگوش در استادیوم ورزشی در لس آنجلس برگزار شد

کنسرت گوگوش در آغاز یک تور جهانی در استادیوم ورزشی فوروم در لس آنجلس با حضور هزاران تن از هواداران او همراه با انتشار آلبوم تازه او برگزار شد. کنسرت با اجرای آهنگ های خاطره انگیز گذشته آغاز شد. در این برنامه شماری از شخصیت های ایرانی مانند علی دائی فوتبالیست و بیژن طراح سرشناس ایرانی ساکن لس آنجلس نیز در میان جمعیت حضور داشتند. چند تن از تماشاگران در برنامه مصاحبه با رادیو فردا از احساسات خود سخن می گویند. در بخش دیگری از این کنسرت آهنگ هائی از آلبوم تازه او بنام مانیفست با همراهی مهرداد ارائه شد.

In spite of what was said before, although a little late, but BBC Persian Service published a very nice report together with brilliant pictures from the  L.A. concert.

AN INCREDIBLE EVENING WITH GOOGOOSH!

FANTASTIC …. AWESOME …. EXHILIRATING!!!   WHAT A MAGNIFICENT PERFORMANCE.  ONLY SHE CAN TOP HER OWN PERFORMANCES AND NO ONE ELSE!!  Everyone should see Googoosh perform at least once in their lifetime.  It is a cultural experience, aside from being absolutely amazing!

The Concert started late, around 9:20 PM.  Not because she was not ready but because the audience arrived very late! It was said later that the delay was due to security reasons!

Those of us who had taken our seats a little after 7PM were treated to a wonderful display of our One and Only Superstar’s pictures from her childhood to recent years, videos and music on the big screens.  Several times they showed a picture of a young Googoosh with Vigen with the caption “In loving memory of Vigen”.  This was very touching.

Then came the MOMENT.  The band played Talaagh, we heard Shahyar: “Yeki bood Yeki Nabood, gheir as sedaa hich ki nabood….  Sahney-e maa ghazal poosh.. SEDA SEDAYE GOOGOOSH”! And she walked onto the stage in an elegant gold and orange gown.  SHE LOOKED STUNNING.  We greeted her with cheers and applause, and she bowed and knelt in response, then rose, opened her arms and faced the audience in the center, then right and left; like she always does.

She got the microphone and with a beautiful smile said, “Dideed chi goftam?  Dideed goftam misheh???”.  Then she announced that she had a very bad cold but it was not important because “you are all here”, which drew a loud cheer from the crowd.

As we were all still wide-eyed at how beautiful she was, she opened with Chelleh Neshin, followed by few more songs from the Akharin Khabar Album.  Although you could tell that she definitely had a cold and a sore throat, as her voice broke a couple of times, she sang beautifully, specially carrying the high notes with no difficulty at all.  WOW.

She not only looked absolutely gorgeous, she looked very happy which was wonderful to see.  She looked like a child in a candy store; relishing the joy of performing that had been taken away from her.  You could see in her beautiful face, radiant with happiness, that she appreciated the opportunity to perform, FREELY!  And, that was what I wanted to see.

When she was performing “Otagh-e Man”, the video was playing on the big screens.  Need I remind everyone of her masterful Charlie Chaplin act?  We did not look at the screen too long because she was also doing the Chaplin walk on the stage which endeared her more than ever to the crowd who could not help but cheer and applaud!

As soon as the band started playing Aahouy-e Eshgh, came the cheers of excitement and a number of people were on their feet dancing.  SO DID OUR GOOGOOSH.  You couldn’t help but join in the excitement that her performance caused.

As she left the stage to change, Kambiz and his dancers performed Chocolate.  It was a very nice and entertaining performance.  He then announced that Ali Daie (Captain of Iran ’s Soccer Team) was in the audience.  The crowd cheered loudly.  Kambiz then held a silver soccer ball and told everyone that there were four of these balls all signed by Googoosh and Ali Daie and asked if anyone wanted them.  Well.  Of course!  He threw the balls into the audience – in the four corners – and the audience politely fought over them!!  This caused quite a pleasant excitement.

It was now time for Googoosh again!  She appeared in a beautiful red gown.  THE VISION IN FRONT OF US WAS BREATHTAKING.  She performed her old favorites in a unique way. She sang them one after another without a pause, but only about a quarter of each song, and with each the crowd roared with excitement.

She is not only a magnificent performer, but a master of ceremony!! She was in complete control of the stage, music and everything connected to it!     

After the intermission, there she was, in a blue-turquoise gown with long blond hair. A VISION TO BEHOLD.  STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL, SHE LOOKED ANGELIC AT THE SAME TIME.

She performed a few songs from the Manifest album.  She had a cold?  You should have heard her sing.  YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’VE MISSED.  Manifest is the best album EVER!  The performance, the music and the masterfully created lyrics by Shahyar are MAGNIFICENT. 

Then she decided to surprise Mehrdad!  She told everyone that she wanted to thank someone who stood by her for the past two years and without him this night would not have been possible.  And, I would like to invite him to sing with me for three songs; and motioned to Mehrdad.  The band played Akharin Khabar as he walked onto the stage, bowed to the crowd and kissed Googoosh’s hand.  It was time to start singing, but Mehrdad was so overwhelmed he could not sing for a few moments.  The audience cheered and applauded for him.

After their duets, a delightful performance by both, the end was almost near.  The program had to be cut short because there was not enough time to perform all the songs she had prepared.  The audience protested, lovingly of course, and she said “biroonemoon mikonand”!!! 

Someone shouted out “I love you”.  She replied “Manam I love you”!!! 

She took a moment to thank everyone and wished them all well.  And for herself she wished she’ll live long so that she could perform for another 20 years!

SHE LEFT THE STAGE AMIDST CHEERS AND APPLAUSE.

AND THE INCREDIBLE EVENING WAS OVER!
